Getting to the Watch Hill Ferry Terminal (Patchogue, NY)
By Train
Take the Montauk Branch of the Long Island Rail Road to the Patchogue railroad station. The road along the southern side of the tracks is Division St. Follow this west about ¼ miles to West Ave. Turn left and continue south down West Ave. On the right, you will notice a brown sign for the Fire Island National Seashore and Watch Hill Ferry Terminal.
By Car from the West
Take Sunrise Highway east to Exit 52 South (Waverly Ave - CR-19). Continue south on Waverly Avenue for ¾ miles. Bear right on Holbrook Road and follow for 0.4 miles. Continue on West Ave/Clare Rose Blvd. About ½ mile down, you will notice a brown sign for the Fire Island National Seashore and Watch Hill Ferry Terminal. Turn right at the driveway for free parking.
By Car from the East
Take Sunrise Highway west to Exit 53 South (Medford Ave - Route 112). Continue south on Medford Avenue to the end. Turn right on Montauk Highway and follow it for about ½ mile. Turn left on West Ave. About ½ mile down, you will notice a brown sign for the Fire Island National Seashore and Watch Hill Ferry Terminal. Turn right at the driveway for free parking.
Getting to the Watch Hill, Fire Island By Boat
- Follow the inner coastal buoys that run east to west along the middle of the Great South Bay until you reach #35 (N 40° 43.157', W 073° 01.948').
- Then head towards the #2 Watch Hill channel marker (N 40° 42.145', W 073° 00.588').
- Follow the channel markers to the end at #10 (N 40° 41.733', W 072° 59.383').
- The Waste Management Building is located at (N 40° 41.631, W 072° 59.377').
This should bring you safely into the marina. We make no guarantees, but this is the safest route.
