
Please note that campers choose their own sites on a first come first serve basis and that camping in a site without the appropriate permits is illegal.
Campers may check in at the General Store between 10:00 am and 4:00 pm. You will be issued a camping permit and it must be secured to your post at your site in order to camp. If you do not check in by 4:00 pm your reservation will be forfeited. If you are going to be late and are still coming, please contact the Watch Hill Dockmaster at (631) 597-3109.
Please have all your gear off your site by 11:00 am on the last day of your reservation. If you would like to extend your stay, please check with the General Store. If a camper does not check out by 11:00 am, they will be charged for another day.
Camping is limited to 14 consecutive days.
Each campground site allows for five adults with either two 2-man tents or one 5-man tent.
Only marked sites may be used and tents may not be pitched in vegetation. Trenching, digging, or leveling sites is prohibited. Sites are not assigned, they are on a first come, first serve basis.
At least one party member must be 21 years old. Camping permits will not be issued to anyone under 21.
Wood and open ground fires are prohibited. Use only charcoal in grills provided, or you may bring a camp stove. Dispose of coals in proper receptacles.
No flammables, including cooking fuels are allowed on the ferry. Cooking fuels may be purchased at the concession.
Pets must be leashed and must not disturb other campers. Pets are not allowed on beaches from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Pets are not permitted in any sanitary facilities (including showers). Pets are not to be left unattended at campsites. It is the owners responsibility to remove and dispose of pet's waste. There are only two pets allowed per campsite
Skateboards, bicycles, and scooters are not allowed in the park.
Dispose of all trash in trash receptacles, wash dishes only at sink stand, and please leave your site clean.
Generators and other power equipment are prohibited.
Quiet hours are between 10 pm and 6 am Loud noise and audio devices are not permitted during quiet hours.
If you have a reservation and cannot arrive by the first day, please call (631) 597-3109. Reservations are non-refundable and non-transferable.
Individual Camping reservations will not be accepted via telephone, fax, or mail. You must use the online reservation system.
Group Campsite may be reserved by filling out the Group Campsite Request Form. The Group Campsite Request From will only be accepted by mail. Please note that bona fide not-for-profit organizations will only be accepted.
Depending on site availability, visitors without reservations may be able to obtain a site on a first-come, first-serve basis. Upon arrival at Watch Hill, contact the General Store to determine site availability. We cannot guarantee that walk-ins will obtain a site. If nothing is available at that time, you will be placed on a waiting list. When a site becomes available you will be notified via your cell phone or you can check back at the store at 4:30 pm.

Visitors can enjoy a variety of self-guided activities, such as hiking (campground is adjacent to Otis G. Pike Wilderness Area), bird watching, using the bay and ocean beaches, and canoeing.
